At Corgi Socks, we take pride in crafting luxury socks from the finest materials. To ensure they remain as soft, comfortable, and long-lasting as the day you bought them, follow our expert care guide.

1. Wash Inside Out

Turning your socks inside out before washing helps:
Reduce pilling and lint buildup.
Preserve the softness of the fabric.
Keep colors vibrant and patterns intact.

2. Use a Gentle Detergent

Choose a mild, pH-neutral detergent suitable for delicate fabrics like cashmere and wool, we recommend the Clothes Doctor Eco Wash for Cashmere and Wool.
Avoid bleach or harsh chemicals, as they can break down fibres and fade colours.

3. Wash at the Right Temperature

For cotton and merino wool socks, machine wash at 30°C (86°F) on a gentle cycle.
For cashmere and fine wool socks, hand wash in lukewarm water (never hot!).

4. Avoid Fabric Softeners

Fabric softeners leave a coating on fibres, reducing breathability and moisture-wicking properties.
Instead, use a splash of white vinegar in the rinse cycle to naturally soften socks.

5. Dry Properly

Air drying is best—lay socks flat on a towel to maintain their shape.
Avoid direct sunlight or radiators, as heat can weaken fibers.
If using a dryer, tumble dry on low heat to prevent shrinkage.

6. Never Iron Your Socks

The heat from ironing can damage elastic fibres, affecting stretch and fit.
If needed, lightly steam wool socks to remove wrinkles.

7. Store Your Socks Correctly

Fold or roll socks neatly—don’t stretch them over each other, as this can weaken elastic.
Use breathable storage like fabric drawers instead of plastic bags to prevent moisture buildup. Add a scent bag into your sock drawer to keep them fresh such as the Clothes Doctor 'Protect Me' Scent Bag.

8. Remove Lint & Pilling

Use a fabric shaver or sweater stone to gently remove pilling from wool socks.
A lint roller can keep socks looking fresh and clean.

9. Keep Feet & Shoes in Good Condition

Trim toenails regularly to avoid snags.
Ensure shoes are clean inside—dirt and rough surfaces can cause unnecessary wear.

10. Rotate Your Socks

Wearing the same socks too often causes quicker wear. Rotate pairs regularly to extend their lifespan.
