Last week we were delighted to welcome Labour Assembly Member for Mid and West Wales, Rebecca Evans to the Corgi factory.
Mrs Evans had seen and heard a lot about Corgi so wanted to visit us to find out more about who we are and what we do. Our Director Chris was on hand to give our guest the grand tour of the factory, showing her the various productions areas, introducing her to staff and giving her a sneaky peek at our new building and soon to be opened new factory shop.
Corgi has received a good deal of support from the Welsh Government in recent times which has been invaluable in terms of assisting our development and expansion as a company, and in growing the size of our workforce – so we were pleased to be given the chance to show Mrs Evans what a difference this support has made.
Following the visit Mrs Evans said:
“Companies like Corgi are world-renowned, and they showcase the quality products that businesses in West Wales can deliver. It was fantastic to visit the factory in Ammanford to see first-hand the work they do.
“I am thrilled that a company with such strong local links is making waves on an international level and developing skills in local young people. I am particularly pleased that five new apprenticeships have already been created, giving young people a chance to acquire accredited skills and make a great start on their careers.”
Thank you to Mrs Evans for popping in to see us – you’re welcome to visit again any time!
